Once Xie Lian is settled and not-dying, Rin is going to go looking for Allen! Rin has a red string tied around his ring finger, so now he's searching out the owner of the other part of this string. He'll peer at Allen's hands to see where the string ended up.]

which is to say, Allen has probably been running searching for Rin and his group unless Joonghyuk decided to wrangle him at some point but EITHER WAY there is a deep weariness (as if his energy had been siphoned off--lol, spectres), a would-be kind of hollow feeling (as if Dust had been siphoned off--lol, spectres) competing with the highkey distress getting whiplashed into relief???? the whiplash is about as bad as going from 19 depression to 1 depression in one turn. yes, these are all on the surface.
but anyway, the string is on his right hand's ring finger because otherwise he never would have noticed it. he's also probably still wearing his clothes that got torn and bloodied on his right side like something clawed him up a bit.]

[Oh good, they match then. Rin is absolutely covered in blood (of several colors), dirt, singe marks, and other questionable things. None of it is his own, mind, he looks healthy as a horse (beyond bloodshot eyes and the scars from previous weeks).
The weariness and hollow feelings coming from Allen are definitely a worry. He must be feeling them strongly for Rin to feel them as well. But somehow this doesn't freak Rin out too much. It's something to be concerned about, but in the moment he finds himself loving being around Allen much more than he worries about Allen. In this moment, the warm smiles and the butterflies in his stomach are back, making their presence known.]
That guy was an asshole. But it's okay, he's not in this world. And me and Xie Lian survived his attacks anyway.

They showed up after we got Baraqiel's item. It just appeared on my hand, and ever since then I've felt a little bit of what you feel. Also it gets tighter if one of us is in danger, and I think we're stuck together.

And I guess the strings don't actually connect here, but like...the string in the stories goes off into the distance, and if you follow it you'll eventually find someone tied to the other end of it. And that person, that's your soulmate.
[Rin looks equally flustered here, and the feeling that comes across is best summed up as 'internal screaming'.]
I know, I know! I didn't think that was gonna happen, I thought the strings were just "oh, you three worked together as a team, here's your proof of success". But then it's all of THIS!
