Rin doesn't know the entirety of Hua Cheng's past, but he knows enough to know that the two of them are similar. And he knows enough to know that the subtle gestures of caring that Hua Cheng shows are very special and it makes Rin feel special in turn. Like it's a side of Hua Cheng that only very few people get to see.
