[Hilariously Rin would normally be cooking to deal with his anger problems, but there's no real food to cook. He's not going to go Chef Ramsey on a can of corn.

So he's hungry and grumpy and eventually hears noises from the laundry room during his wanderings so he'll peek his head in to see what's going on.]

...Allen?

[there's no real tone to the response as he wrings out the shirt he's currently working on, left hand doing most of the work since actually wringing out clothes is difficult.

Rowan eyes Rin warily but there is small movements of her tail that probably gives away that she's not too concerned.]

[It's okay Rowan, Rin isn't here to cause trouble! And Rin is familiar with that 'no tone' kind of response, Yukio does that all the time. Not gonna work on Rin.]

You, uh. You want some help there?

[And then, after a moment:]

I'll shut up if that's what you want, I just wanna help.

[lefthandpath]

[he pauses. and takes a breath.]

I'm not upset with you. Not really. If you wanna help, socks are still needing wrung out.

Right.

[He'll go right over to the socks and start wringing them out. Meanwhile, Rinkou will plop herself down near Rowan and transform into Loaf Form.]

Even if you're not mad at me, you're still mad, yeah?

[Rowan keeping an eye on Rinkou, but seem chill.]

I'm mad. But I don't like being mad. So I'm trying not to be.

...yeah. I get that.

[He doesn't really like being mad either.]

I can't cook when I'm mad, I mess up the dishes by cooking too roughly. So it helps me calm down because I have to be calm to cook right. But there's not much to cook here.

I'm used to being more active than this.

[A pause as he considers something...]

[he glances over, finally, curious.]

[He moves the socks over to one hand, and then holds up his other. It's in a hi-5 gesture.]

Your arm is some kinda magic thing, yeah? I remember hearing that. So let's see if it's working now or not.

[Rin seems to be under the impression that a hi-5 will burn him if Allen still has his powers. Probably because he's a half-demon and all.]

[this face, though. because Allen is not in the habit of trying out things that may potentially harm someone.]

Rin, you're not the kind of akuma it would be most effective against.

Then it should just be a tingling if we touch, right? Or, hopefully, nothing at all.

[he is snapping his wrung out shirt to get it a little unwrinkled.]

So you're asking me to risk hurting you, am I hearing that correctly?

[His smile falls, and then he looks back to the washing water as he lets his hand drop.]

...nevermind.

[more frowning, but it's largely because Allen's not even sure what to do here.

finally, after another moment, he looks over again. extends his left hand like for a handshake.]

... if it hurts, say so.

[At first Rin seems reluctant to try again, and he's about to tell Allen not to worry about it. But then Allen lifts his hand up for a handshake, and Rin feels like he's gotten himself into a silly position.

So he sets the sock down again, and he goes for that left-handed shake. I'm assuming Allen does not have his exorcist powers rn and thus nothing happens, but correct me if I'm wrong.]

[he does not have his Innocence's powers and nothing happens.

only when Allen eyes Rin and doesn't see a reaction does he action let the bit of tension in his shoulders relax.

[He doesn't seem too bothered by the strange feeling of Allen's skin. He's also not burning at the contact, with is good!]

Guess I'm safe from it after all, huh?

[Rin's cheerful smile might be mitigated by the fact that he's doing this gay shit now. He's definitely curious about the feel of Allen's hand but he also just wants to hold hands for a moment, he's waiting to see if Allen gets flustered or not.]

[he's more... confused. looking between Rin and their hands like he's pretty sure there's some sort of mistake happening. this is not how people react to his hand, usually?]

[His teasing didn't quite get the results he was hoping for, but it's still something. So Rin just smiles.]

It's nothing to be worried about, yeah? It's just a hand.

[He squeezes the hand a little, as if to accentuate his point.]

[when in fact the words "it's just a hand" are what get the reaction, but it also results in Allen Walker pulling back on his hand and looking away.]

If it was just a hand, I wouldn't be able to make it into a sword.

[He lets go! But he's grinning as he does so.]

Even if it turns into a sword, it's still a hand! Besides, it's better to extend a hand in friendship than it is to extend a sword in battle, yeah?
