I agree that if you do something bad you ought to repent. Wicked people should be punished for their crimes. But. . . I don't think anyone ought to be punished simply for who they are. And I do not believe someone who does something on accident is a wicked person.
Especially when there was someone else that same night who killed someone, who clearly planned it, and who chose a method and a plot calculated to cause damage to a number of people and manipulate their emotions. That person is the person I cannot forgive, not you.
