[He is around! And he looks a little tired but as soon as he sees Clementine he'll smile and cover up his tiredness.]

Hey. Feeling hungry?

[Rin's first instinct: feed people.]

I was too distracted by that whole train wreck to eat all day.

I think we all were. C'mon, let's go get something.

It was the same where I was before too. By the end of the trials, everyone was starving.

... But we didn't have food sitting around to forget about in the first place.

Yeah? At first the place I was at was like that, but as we went to other cities we found more and more stuff we could eat. I think Yukio was happy when I was finally able to make a real meal for us. Not that he said so, he was too grumpy to admit it.

I mean, we had plenty of food during the week. It was really nice.

But during trials we were just stuck in a room without anything to eat.

Yeah, that happened with us too. But we always knew when the trials would be, so I guess we coulda taken time to make food first. 'sides, I bet Hua Cheng and Kururu and Ochako woulda brought us food if we asked. But we just never asked.

Yeah! She was one of the Watchers where I was.

She always kept an eye out for all of us, and she was the one to remind us to stay healthy.

She's definitely brave, yeah, she was like that with us too. And kind! But she got flustered so easily too.

We had Alphinaud. Lup, too. And Hua Cheng.

Hua Cheng? Did you have Xie Lian too?

Yeah. I got to know him better than I did Hua Cheng.

He's a lot easier to talk to, isn't he?

You know, I ended up actually praying to him once. Kinda funny, isn't it?

Mmhmm. Even though me and him have next to nothing in common it still feels like we do, somehow.

... Praying, huh? I guess he is some kind of God, right?

Yeah. We didn't have much in common either, but it still felt like he was listening and understanding me.

I hope Dad doesn't mind that I prayed to a different god. He's a Catholic priest, but I don't think he's actually that religious, so I'm sure he'll understand.

I'm sure it's... Fine? I met a priest in the Realm and he seemed pretty laid back about stuff.

Sometimes priests are laid back, but sometimes they're real pricks. It's good you met a cool one.

I don't think we can really hold people to 'normal' standards in places like this. A lot of what happens is outside of everyone's control, yeah? I'd say most people who killed didn't really want to.

Every week I keep hoping it'll be something different.

It's stupid.

[Rin looks quite distraught right now too. He's not crying or anything, but he has a lot on his mind.]

But I dunno if hoping for better is stupid, even if we keep getting knocked back down.

... It's just hard to get the balance right. You can't give up. But you shouldn't be stupid, either.

We were in the Realm together. I barely talked to him there.

But I'd been trying to get to know him, here.

[HI CLEM you have a visitor! Well, two visitors, because Rin brought Rinkou with him. But he'll set her down at the door so he can walk in and see how Clem is doing.

He also brought some finger foods from the restaraunt, stuff like water and bread and cheese. Just in case she was hungry.]

[ sorry i do have to ask what animal rinkou is?

but bless, she looks grateful for food. ]

[She is a wolverine! But she got nerfed down to cat-sized wolverine here. She's just waddling around sniffing at things for now.

But Rin offers Clementine a little smile as he walks over to her and brings her the plate and glass.]

Here. If you want something different I can go get it for you though, I wasn't sure what to get.

[ okay i think that's far enough from a dog that clementine is just. wary but not actively upset about.

[Oh my god I forgot Clem's dog trauma. Rinkou will at least stay on the other side of the room?]

Just wanted to help. I remember when it happened to me that having something to eat was pretty nice, even if it was just a snack.

[He'll come sit down near Clem too. Time for talking!]

[He pauses there for a moment, and he shifts uncomfortably. He's unsure if he should say anything, but after a moment he swallows and just goes for it.]

So...did Cloud come talk to you?

Good, that's good.

[Rin won't pry into what was said, because that's private. But he's glad they at least talked.]

Do you, uh...the shadows, can you tell if they're still there?

[stillnot]

They're gone. As soon as the votes came in...

Oh, that's good too. I mean, I wouldn't want to be haunted by shadows right now.

[At least Clem gets a few hours of clarity to her mind?]

I liked when it was just being forced to play board games with them to get out of a room. That was fine.
