Week 1, post-execution

[Rin is not a doctor, so he can't help Kotetsu. Instead, he's going to be wandering around the town listlessly, out of focus and thinking about everything and nothing at the same time.

He does snap out of it when he sees Monika though.]

Oh hey! ...Monika?

[He sounds unsure there, like he's trying to remember her name but might not have it right.]

[She nods as if to confirm, offering him a tired smile. Sometimes... you are both useless in a medical emergency.]

Yep, that's me. Were you taking a walk to clear your head, too?

Yeah. Not much else I can do right now anyway.

[Not that long walks have ever helped him that much.]

How about you? Is it helping at all?

[rerouter]

[... A sigh and a shake of her head.]

I don't know. My head is still all kinds of muddled. What about you?

Week 2, post-execution

Which means Rin is standing near a tall shelf, while Rinkou is up on the shelf, in cat form and with a paw on a vase of some sort.]

[Hello?? She has not noticed the vase situation.]

[We will be nice to Monika, the vase is just going to smash to the ground close to her.

Mostly because Rin is screaming and moving to try and drag Monika out of the way of the vase.]

saturday, week three.

[rerouter]

[What is the jail situation even... Monika has a drink from one of the house kitchens that she will offer to him, silently. Hello. How is Rin faring in jail?]

[It's a jail! But there are bars on the jail cell, so he can definitely take a drink if she gives him one. Rin seems to be doing okay but he's also just trying to keep calm right now too.]

What's that?

[rerouter]

... Just plain water. I don't know what you like, so I didn't want to risk giving you something you couldn't drink.

[She will, in fact, give him the drink. It is absolutely water. But, after a pause--]

Rin, I'm really sorry we couldn't find the person who hurt Rex and Susato.

week 4, Thursday

[Rin is. Automatically crashing wherever Monika happens to be staying right now. Because yes.]

Hey! Hope you're hungry!

[Because be brought...meat on a stick!

And water.]

[rerouter]

[...

Monika, a vegetarian, politely looks at the meat stick.]

Oh, gosh... I'm not sure I can stomach anything right now, but thank you for thinking of me.

[Not a lie, though. By now, she's at least washed off the blood and tied her slightly charred hair up.]

[I fucking forgot Monika is a vegetarian and I'm crying now.

But he'll accept that and instead hold out the water.]

At least have something to drink? And if your stomach is upset I can go looking for crackers.

[Her hair though...she'll need a hair trim maybe.]

Week 5, post-trial

[Monikaaaaa!

One of our few girls left, and Rin will definitely be checking on her too. He seems to be tirelessly working now that the trial is over. He's got people to feed and to pat on the shoulder.]

Hey. Cookies, or bread?

[He has both.]

[rerouter]

[At this rate, one of these girls will become The Final Girl.

But for now, Monika offers him a small smile. It doesn't quite reach her eyes, but it's there.]

... I think I could use something sweet. [So, cookie unless it has like marshmallows or something in it.] Are you offering some to everyone?

[He remembered the vegetarian thing! They're regular sugar cookies. Unless Monika is a vegan and can't have eggs or butter it will be fine.]

As many people as I can. Not everyone wants to talk right now, so they'll get some in a couple days.

friday, week six.

[rerouter]

[Well. Here they are at the apartments. Monika is frowning at the staircase while bemoaning the lack of accessibility, especially after A-Qing... well.

When she notices him, waves him over. Hello.]

[Today is a bit of a daze, and Rin is...okay? Maybe? Fridays are always terrible but he's at least up and moving around.

When he sees Monika, he waves to her as well before heading over.]

Hey. Heading out for the night, or coming back?

[He is coming back ftr, he's been out doing other things and now he is back.]

[rerouter]

Coming back, actually.

[Spoken softly, as to not further aggravate her voice. She still sounds like she's been gargling rocks, but she at least looks a little better now that she's changed her clothes and fixed her hair.]

Week 6, post-trial

[HERE MONIKA HAVE A BOBA TEA! Rin has two in his hands and he is shoving one at Monika the moment he sees her.]

Hey.

[rerouter]

[She blinks and accepts the tea, only mildly confused.]

Hey... Ah, thank you?

[aono]

It's good stuff, if you haven't had it before. And I checked, it's okay for you to have.

[No gelatin in it or anything!]

Week 7, Monday (after town hall)

[aono]

[There is. No way in hell. That Rin isn't going looking for Monika.

Luckily there's not THAT many places to go looking for her, so he'll just end up yelling as he runs around.]

Monikaaaaa!

[rerouter]

[Rin is such a good boy.

Fortunately for him, Monika will not have gone very far in these shoes. He will find her by the river, crouched down next to it with Pygmalion. It's a miracle she hears him at all over the sound of the waters.]

H-Huh? Rin? [Twisting around to see him, wide eyed. Hello???] Why are you shouting...?!

[aono]

There you are!

[He's going to run up like he's about to tackle her or something. But in reality, he stops just short and drops down to his knees in an apologetic gesture.]

I'm so sorry! You've been hurting all this time and I didn't even notice!
