Why'd you kill Flayn?

[ercnerd]

. . . In regards to Flayn, it was because she happened to be there.

As for why I killed her, I just felt like it . . . though that probably would've been different if I had had an exorcist with me.

[Rin, an exorcist-in-training, suddenly feeling very Concerned.]

Why? What happened?

[ercnerd]

I wasn't the only one in my body this week. There was a shadow, too.

And that shadow, that's what made you kill Flayn?

[ercnerd]

. . . It didn't make me. It just made me think that it was reasonable to snap her neck.

[aono]

Yeah, that sounds like what a demon would do.

[But now he just feels sad for Sieghart. This wasn't his fault!]

What did it tell you to make you think that? "She's a dangerous demon, go take care of her" or something?

[ercnerd]

If it had told me that, I would've used Soluna to cut her in half.

[He glances at the giant blade propped against the wall near him.]

All it said was that it could help me secure Mari's safety. It spent the rest of the week crowding out my inhibitions.

You're strong, to have held out as long as you did.

[Rin knows what it's like to get crowded out by a demon, he didn't even last five minutes the first time. The fact that Sieghart held it together for days is something to be praised, even if things turned out bad in the end.]

It's probably not gonna stop at you either. Were there any signs that something was off? Something we can look for?

[He considers whether that's true or not. Sieghart is well aware of his abilities and how strong he is by mortal standards, but most instances like these seemed to have run on a tight schedule. Time will tell, he supposes.]

They were plenty on my end. As for what you can look for . . . I'd say that depends on the person.

Well, what were they for you?

As I've said before, my inhibitions were worn away. Think about how that might affect the person next to you, but don't be so suspicious that you alienate someone for it.

So...get to know people, so I can tell when they're acting out?

[ercnerd]

Don't go making that an ulterior motive. Get to know people for who they are as friends, and you'll still be able to tell.
