(After general new week and NPC harassment things, Tsurumaru is coming for the regular folks now. When he hears someone coming, he jumps out from behind a wall or something at Rin,)

(The magpie on his head also spreads her wings wide. They're both in on the shenanigans.)

[Rin jumps back, surprised, and Rinkou immediately jumps between him and Tsuru and gets all poofy and hissy. Attack cat! Except she's not attacking, just being a spitfire.]

(And Kiku takes off, flying circles around them and cackling the way birds do.)

Hahah! So you were surprised? Good, good.

(They're just both so pleased with themselves)

What's good about being surprised?!

[Rin looks just as ruffled as his cat does right now.]

Surprises are essential in life. If everything goes according to plan, the heart will die slowly.

(Yeah.)

The heart might just die quickly from being provoked too.

[Rin is running around looking for Tsuru, and the reason why will become apparent quickly enough. Because as soon as he finds Tsuru, he is going to grin and hold up his sword, in its sheath, over his head proudly.]

(No explanation. He is not explaining. But he listens to Rin and smiles lightly.

Were the scrolls not enough?

(Cute.... cute!! He gives Rin a smile. It's as calm as ever but there's definitely some warmth there.)

Hm~? What do we have here... (And he gives the sword a look over. As he suspected, it's different from the sword of the same name he knows but it doesn't make it any less precious, ) Kurikara! Finally, you're reunited.

(As for Tsurumaru himself, he's changed out of his mismatched fashion atrocity of a 90s outfit (it was fine, he's just being dramatic) and has opted for his regular clothes sans armor for now. At his side, there's a long sword with white fastenings. It looks fancy! )

[He does not get it, but that's okay. Tsuru must just be like this. Rin can accept that.]

The scrolls said a lot, yeah. But like, how are you your own item?

[aono]

We're reunited! And it looks like you are too.

[He sees that sword there, yes. And the clothes tell him that Tsuru is an Old. Rin has traded bad 90s clothes for a nice suit and tie btw.]

It's nice to have them back, huh? It felt like I was missing a part of myself.

[He lowers the sword, but he's still hanging onto it instead of tucking it into his belt or something. It actually looks like there's a strap on the sheath for carrying it, too. Someone usually just slings it over his shoulder.]

(Carrying it like a practice sword or one that is much larger than it really is, huh?

But that sure is a way to phrase things and there's something mischievous in his smile. But then again, what's new there? He always looks like he knows something or is keeping something from everyone else.)

Yes, I feel whole again; like I'm myself once more.

What did you have to do to find him?

[He usually carries it like this, over his shoulder.]

We had to climb that weird tower in the middle of town and get our stuff from on top of it. But everything started to fly away when we got close, it was a real pain!

What about your group, what did you guys do?

We had to go out to sea and play with the children.

(It sounds so nice when he describes it like this?)

Some unforgivable things happened. I would have preferred a tower, I think.

(Usually calm and cool, even when he's menacing and having fun, this is probably the first time he looks frustrated. He huffs and lets his voice rise,)
